PhishGuard

PhishGuard is an explainable phishing and malicious-URL detection extension. It analyzes website URLs using machine-learning models, security rules, URL structure, and known-domain context to estimate phishing risk. PhishGuard provides: • SAFE, SUSPICIOUS, or PHISHING verdicts • Risk score and risk level • Explainable reasons behind the decision • Automatic warning before navigating to URLs classified as PHISHING • Option to go back or continue at the user's choice The detection engine analyzes URL-level signals such as hostname, path, query structure, suspicious security-related patterns, and other extracted URL features. PhishGuard is designed as a security research and educational prototype. URL-based detection cannot guarantee detection of every phishing page, especially when malicious content is not observable from the URL itself.
