About Penmargin: hand-drawn notes on any web page
Read the web with a pen in your hand.
Penmargin lets you mark up any web page the way you'd mark up paper: underline, circle, box, highlight, bracket or strike through a passage with marks that look hand-drawn, then write a note in the margin in handwriting, with an arrow pointing at the text.
TAG WHAT YOU READ
Mark passages as Pro, Con, Note, Not good or Question. The side panel groups everything by tag, so comparing products, reviewing an AI answer or weighing an argument turns into a ready-made pros and cons list.
YOUR NOTES COME BACK
Close the tab, come back next week: your marks and notes are still there. Penmargin finds the passage again even if the page changed a little, and works in apps like Claude and ChatGPT that redraw their pages.
WRITE IN YOUR OWN HANDWRITING
Notes use friendly handwriting fonts. Coming with Pro: upload a font made from your own handwriting (for example with Calligraphr), and your notes look like you wrote them.
EXPORT AND REVIEW
• Copy a Markdown summary grouped by tag, with every quote and note
• Search and filter everything you've saved across all pages
• Save a PNG snapshot of the page with your marks (Pro, coming soon)
• Back up and restore everything as JSON (Pro, coming soon)
