About Password Auto Generator
Password Auto Generator is an automatic password generator for signup forms. When you create an account, it generates a new password and fills both the password and confirm-password fields.
First, set up encrypted recovery once with a separate master password of at least 12 characters. Then unlock once per browser session. Automatic fill runs only while recovery is unlocked, so each new password is saved to your encrypted history before it is filled.
How it works
• Looks for clear signup forms with empty password fields on HTTPS pages. Each form gets a fresh password, and the confirmation field gets the same one.
• Passwords are 16 characters, generated locally with Web Crypto, with uppercase and lowercase letters, digits and symbols. If a form lists its allowed symbols in a supported format, only those are used. Other symbol rules may not be recognized.
• Skips ordinary login and password recovery forms. Current-password fields are normally skipped too, with a narrow exception for a verified signup page that mislabels its new-password field.
• Automatic fill never replaces a value already in the field or one you typed. Regenerate is different: clicking it deliberately replaces the password the extension filled earlier.
• Never submits forms or creates accounts.
• A key button next to the field offers Generate & Fill, Regenerate and Copy.
After filling, the extension tries to copy the password to your clipboard, but your browser may block this. Manual Copy is available while recovery is unlocked and a password exists.
Encrypted recovery history
Your last 10 created passwords are kept on this device with AES-256-GCM encryption, along with the site, the username or email from the form and the creation time. You can search, reveal, copy or delete entries. Each regeneration counts as a new entry, so older entries drop off after 10.
Recovery locks when you click Lock, restart Chrome, or when the extension updates or reloads. Your master password is never stored. If you forget it, there is no reset and the history cannot be recovered. Uninstalling, clearing extension data, losing your browser profile or a storage failure can also remove it. Save important logins in your main password manager.
Privacy
Your data stays on your device. The extension makes no network requests, has no telemetry, analytics, ads, cloud sync or remote code, and never reads your clipboard. It uses storage, clipboard write access and access to HTTPS sites to detect signup forms. Not available in Incognito windows.
Good to know
• Works with many pop-up signup dialogs, single-page apps, permitted frames and open shadow DOM. Detection relies on English text hints and standard autocomplete attributes, so some forms may be missed. Closed shadow DOM, browser-restricted pages and unpermitted frames are not supported.
• Does not fill names, emails or addresses, or retrieve passwords for other sites.
• Websites can read passwords filled into their own forms, and clipboard managers may read copied passwords.
• This is a strong password generator for new accounts, not a full password manager or phishing detector.
