About Parapara – Flipbook-style Speed Reader

Speed-read any web page right where it is — like flipping through a flipbook. Press one shortcut and a small card floats over the article, showing the text a few words at a time. Your eyes stay still, so long articles, docs and web novels go by quickly. ■ Stay in place, never lose your spot ・The card floats over the page — no separate window or reader view ・The sentence you are reading is highlighted in the original text, and the page scrolls with you ・Pause any time and keep reading normally from the highlight; click a paragraph to resume from there ・After you finish, the places you paused or re-read are marked on the page ■ Built for technical reading ・Stops before code blocks, tables and math so they are not flattened into a word stream ・Longer display time for long or rare words and for words that appear for the first time ・Jump between headings (Shift+↑/↓) or pick one from the heading list ■ No selecting, no right-clicking ・Press Alt+V (Option+V on macOS): readable blocks are outlined; press again or Enter to read the main text ・Click a paragraph to start from it, or select text first to read just that part ・Or click the toolbar icon ■ Japanese, done right ・Japanese text is split at natural phrase boundaries and grouped up to the next comma or period (or one phrase at a time) ・Speed is set in characters per minute (300–3,000) for Japanese and in WPM for English ■ Comfortable reading ・Resume where you left off, a break reminder every 20 minutes, and a dark theme ・Read pasted text or PDF files in the side panel (open Chrome's side panel menu and choose Parapara) ■ Private by design ・Everything runs on your computer. The text you read is never sent anywhere or stored ・No analytics, no ads, no account ・No permanent access to your sites — it only touches the tab you start it on ■ Free, no limits All features are free with no usage caps. If you enjoy it, you can support development from the settings screen (a small suggestion also appears once in a while after you finish reading; tap × to hide it for good). ■ About the warning when adding it If Enhanced Safe Browsing is turned on in Chrome, you may see “This extension is not trusted by Enhanced Safe Browsing” when adding it. Chrome shows this for every extension from a recently published developer; it does not mean a problem was found. You can still continue with the installation.
