Pannini Activity Tracker

Pannini Activity Tracker is the browser component of Pannini's internal work-time tracker. It is for Pannini Educational Ventures staff working on company computers and is installed by the company's IT administrator. WHAT IT DOES When you switch tabs, open a page, or move between the browser and other apps, the extension tells the tracker app installed on the same computer which website is in front: its address and page title. The tracker uses this to group your working time by project and task. For example, time spent in a Google Doc or Canva design counts toward the project it belongs to. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • It never reads page content, form fields, passwords, messages or anything you type. • It takes no screenshots and does not record the screen. • It ignores the browser's own pages (settings, extensions, new tab). • It strips the query string from each address (the part after "?", which often carries search terms or tokens) before storing it. • It sends nothing over the internet. Data goes only to the tracker app on the same computer, through Chrome's native messaging. YOU STAY IN CONTROL You review the time blocks the tracker builds before anything is submitted. You can accept, reassign or split each block in the Pannini review app. REQUIREMENTS This extension does nothing on its own. It needs the Pannini Tracker desktop service, which the company installs on its computers. Without it, the extension stays idle. PERMISSIONS • tabs: read the address and title of the active tab when it changes. • nativeMessaging: pass that address and title to the tracker app on the same computer.
