Overton Browser Shield is a Chrome extension that controls how the browser connects to the internet: through the Overton VPN service or through your own proxy server.
What the extension does:
- One-click connect and disconnect for the browser VPN
- 2-day free trial; after the trial, access is provided by a subscription activated in the official Telegram bot
- Support for your own SOCKS4, SOCKS5, HTTP and HTTPS proxies
- Quick input — paste an address like 45.32.117.124:12362:login:pass and the form fills in automatically
- Saved proxy list with a connectivity check for each entry and a "check all" button
- Switch between VPN and Proxy modes on the main screen
- Traffic routing: send everything through the tunnel, everything except selected sites, or only selected sites
- Ready-made service lists (YouTube, Google, Telegram, Discord, Instagram and others) plus your own custom domains
- Kill switch: block browser traffic if the connection drops
- WebRTC control to reduce the chance of a real IP leak
- Optional auto-connect when the browser starts
- Current IP address and country on the main screen
- Light and dark themes, English and Russian interface
How it works: the extension changes proxy settings for Google Chrome only. Traffic from other applications on your device is not affected. Settings are stored locally in your browser profile; the extension does not collect your browsing history.
When access expires, the extension turns the browser proxy off and shows the access status screen.
