Overheard

Overheard adds dual subtitles to any YouTube video — your native language and the language you're learning, shown together and perfectly in sync. FEATURES - Dual subtitles from YouTube's own captions, including auto-generated and auto-translated tracks - Tap any word for an instant translation and pronunciation — your last 20 lookups are saved for review - Fully customizable look: font, size, colors, outline, and background opacity - Built-in style presets (Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube Classic, Clean Minimal) plus your own custom presets - Drag the subtitles anywhere on the video. Whether you're in regular, theater or full-screen mode. - 100+ languages supported for both your native and learning language HOW IT WORKS Overheard requests YouTube's own caption tracks for both your chosen languages. If a language isn't available natively on a video, Overheard asks YouTube to auto-translate from whichever track the video does have. Because of this, subtitle availability and quality depend on what captions the video itself provides — videos with no captions at all won't have subtitles here either, and auto-generated tracks won't be as accurate as manually written ones. PRIVACY Overheard only requests caption data for the YouTube video you're currently watching and looks up word translations when you tap them. It doesn't track your browsing or collect personal data. Overheard is developed independently. Please leave your feedback so it can be improved.
