The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Orthodox Daily — Saints, Feasts & Fasting
Orthodox Daily turns the new tab you open a hundred times a day into a quiet moment in the Church year.
Every tab shows:
• THE DAY — the feast or commemoration, with a gold treatment on the Twelve Great Feasts
• IS TODAY A FAST DAY? — a wax-seal medallion answers at a glance: no fast, fast, or strict fast, with a one-line note on what is permitted. The toolbar icon carries the same answer as a coloured dot, so you can check without opening a tab at all.
• THE JESUS PRAYER — a prayer rope (komboskini) you can actually tap. Thirty-three knots light as you pray; the count keeps through the day and resets at midnight.
• PRAYER OF THE DAY — set on a parchment page, rotating through a small collection of the classic prayers.
• THE ROAD AHEAD — a countdown to the next Great Feasts.
• NEW OR OLD CALENDAR — one tap, remembered.
Set in Cormorant Garamond on deep porphyry and gold, in the spirit of an illuminated manuscript.
WORKS OFFLINE, COMPLETELY
The Paschalion is computed on your device and the whole calendar is built from it. Nothing is fetched, so there is no loading, no flicker, and no server that can go down or start charging.
PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION
No accounts. No analytics. No tracking. No network requests whatsoever. It asks for no access to any website, so it cannot see your browsing, history, bookmarks, or tabs — it only saves your calendar choice and today's prayer count on your own machine.
A NOTE ON THE FASTING RULES
This is a widely-used reference set, deliberately simplified in a few graduated cases. Fasting practice varies by jurisdiction, parish, and spiritual father — the extension says so on the page. Keep the fast with the blessing of your priest.
