The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About OpenTyper — Free Auto Typer for Docs, Slides & Word
OpenTyper types a draft you already have into an editor, one keystroke at a time, at a believable human pace. Useful when an editor blocks pasting, when you are recording a demo or screencast, when a form rejects clipboard input, or when typing by hand is physically difficult.
Everything runs locally. There is no account, no server, no character limit and no telemetry. Your draft is stored only in your browser's local extension storage.
WHERE IT TYPES
- Google Docs and Google Slides
- Word Online, SharePoint and OneDrive
- Most rich-text and code editors on the web
- Any ordinary text box, textarea or rich-text field on sites you explicitly allow
HOW IT TYPES
- Non-linear pace: short common words come out in a burst, long or awkward words drag, and the rhythm wanders between fast, steady, slow and brief pauses instead of a fixed rate
- Optional typos with realistic self-corrections, sometimes noticed a few characters late; the finished text always matches your draft
- Optional breaks: type for N minutes, step away for M
- Keeps the document's own fonts, sizes and styles, because it is real typing, not a paste
- Optional Markdown mode: headings, bold, italic, underline and bullet or numbered lists, applied through the editor's own formatting commands
CONTROL
- Speed, rhythm variance, typo rate, start delay and break schedule
- Pause and resume, emergency stop with Esc, keyboard shortcuts
- On-page progress bar with live words per minute and time remaining
- Resumes at the exact character after a reload or an accidental stop
- Refuses to start when it cannot tell which editor you mean, instead of typing into the wrong box
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
No AI humanizer, no detector evasion, no account, no cloud sync, no ads. OpenTyper is a typing tool.
The source code ships unminified and readable inside the package.
