About Open Links on Target Display

About "Open Links on Target Display" Have you ever been working in a multi-display environment and thought, "I wish I could open this link on my other monitor," or "Moving the window over and maximizing it every single time is such a hassle..."? This extension is a simple and convenient tool that allows you to open links directly on a pre-designated target display or window. 💡 Note: We highly recommend using this extension alongside mouse utility software (such as a mouse assistant) that allows you to assign shortcut keys to your mouse buttons. ✨ Key Features Designate Your Display: Easily select your target display from the options page. Clicking the "Identify" button displays large numbers on each screen, making it easy to see which display is which at a glance. Smart Window Management: If a Chrome window already exists on the destination display, the link will open as a "New Tab". If there isn't one, it will automatically create a "New Window". Auto-Maximize Setting: Choose whether to automatically maximize newly created windows. Focus Control: Select whether to keep focus on the original page (opening the link in the background) or shift focus immediately to the newly opened page. Three Operation Modes: With three distinct operation modes available, you can easily switch setups depending on your workflow. Different settings and shortcut keys can be assigned to each mode. Simultaneous Multi-Display Opening: You can select multiple displays at once when opening a link. This allows you to deploy a single page across multiple monitors simultaneously with just one click. Existing Tab Operations via Shortcuts: We've added a feature that lets you (Do Nothing / Duplicate / Move) an already open tab using a shortcut key. If your cursor is hovering over a link, it behaves normally; if it is over an empty area, the action applies to your currently active tab. 🚀 How to Use Hover your mouse cursor over the link you want to open and execute one of the following methods: Right-Click Menu: Right-click on the link, go to "Open in Next Window / Designated Display," and select your preferred mode. Keyboard Shortcut (Recommended): Assign your preferred shortcut key to trigger it instantly (configurable via chrome://extensions/shortcuts). 💡 Pro Tip: Assigning to Mouse Buttons If you use a multi-functional mouse with dedicated configuration software, assigning the browser shortcut key (e.g., Shift+Ctrl+L) to a button like the "Wheel Click (Middle Button)" is incredibly seamless. Just hover over a link and click to effortlessly send pages to your target display one after another! ⚠️ Important Note regarding Shortcut Keys We do not recommend including the "Alt key" in your shortcut combinations. Due to standard browser specifications, the moment you release the Alt key, focus is stolen by the "..." (Menu) icon in the top right corner of the browser. We highly recommend sticking to combinations using Ctrl or Shift. This URL data is processed temporarily in memory only at the exact moment the link is opened; it is never saved or transmitted externally. Local Storage (storage): Saves configuration values chosen by the user in the settings screen—such as "Operation Mode" and "Target Display"—to the browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local).
