One Who Learns - German Vocab Saver

Build your German vocabulary while browsing the web. OWL is a Chrome extension for German learners that lets you translate, save, and enrich new words without leaving the page you're reading. Select any German text, click "Translate," review the translation, and save it directly to your One Who Learns vocabulary list with optional AI enrichment that generates pronunciation guides, grammar metadata, and memory palace images. How it works • Select any German text on a webpage and a translate button appears instantly • Or right-click selected text and choose "Translate with One Who Learns" • View the English translation • Choose the word type (noun, verb, adjective, etc.) and gender for nouns • Alternatively/optionally enable "Enrich with AI" to let AI choose the gender, generate pronunciation (IPA), verb conjugations, and a memory palace image • The word will be saved to your One Who Learns vocabulary list • Review saved words later in the One Who Learns app with spaced repetition Features • Instant German-to-English translation on any webpage • AI enrichment: generate pronunciation, grammar data, and memory images (uses your monthly AI quota) • Smart word type detection: automatically identifies nouns, verbs, adjectives • Gender selection for German nouns (der/die/das) Requirements • A One Who Learns account (sign up free at onewholearns.com) • Premium subscription required to use the extension • AI enrichment uses your monthly quota (100 enrichments/month) Privacy • Your selected text is sent to our servers for translation but we do not store translation queries • AI enrichment is optional and processes only the word you explicitly choose to enrich • Saved words are stored securely in your One Who Learns account • We do not collect browsing history, page content, or any data beyond what you explicitly translate and save • Authentication is handled securely via Supabase with encrypted tokens • No third-party analytics or tracking in the extension Support Visit onewholearns.com/contact or email support@onewholearns.com ## Changelog 1.3.0 — 2026-05-29 - "My Words" is now automatic — every saved word lands there, no list needed - List selection is optional: the dropdown defaults to "My Words (default)"; pick a custom list only to *also* add the word to it - Removed the old default-list special-casing now that My Words is a view, not a stored list 1.2.0 — 2026-05-16 - New "Save to list" dropdown in the popup — pick which vocabulary list each word goes into - Defaults to your "My Words" list so existing behavior is preserved - Custom lists are sorted alphabetically below the default 1.1.0 — 2026-05-14 - Free tier: 10 translations per day — no subscription required to use the extension - Daily counter in the popup shows translations remaining - Clear upgrade prompt when the daily limit is reached - Premium users still get unlimited translations and AI enrichment 1.0.0 - Initial public release - Translate German text on any webpage via tooltip or right-click menu - Save words to your One Who Learns vocabulary with type and gender - Optional AI enrichment (IPA pronunciation, grammar data, memory palace image) for Premium - Google and Apple Sign-In
