About One Click Auto Tab Group

Automatically organize your tabs by hostname with just one click! Optimized for Google Chrome. Behavior may vary in other Chromium-based browsers (e.g. Vivaldi) due to differences in tab grouping implementations. Also supports custom grouping via drag & drop and lets you set your own group names for full control. Tabs that have been inactive for a week will automatically move to an "Inactive" group, helping you keep your browser clean and organized. Easily adjust the inactivity duration from the settings page or select "Never" to disable the feature. Adding “*” to the beginning of a group name prevents it from being moved to the inactive group if you just want to do it for a few groups. Inactivity timing begins from extension installation for pre-existing tabs, or from tab creation or last interaction for newer tabs. Memory Saver Tabs in the "Inactive" group can be automatically unloaded to save memory—enable this feature from the options. Recent Updates: Version 3.0.3 Improved tab grouping stability Improved tab grouping stability by prioritizing reliable group reuse and making manual host mappings more consistent across regrouping and sync scenarios. Version 3.0.2 More stable group name reuse after service worker wake-up Fixed an initialization timing issue so regrouping waits for saved mappings before executing, which helps keep names from drifting. Version 3.0.1 Removed extra notice permission prompt Removed the explicit host permission requirement for notices, reducing extra permission prompts for users. Version 3.0 Support notices and add new Notices entry in the extension menu Added a new Notices menu entry and notice center page with history support, so important announcements are easier to discover and review. This version adds a small permission to fetch a read-only announcement JSON. Version 2.9 Chrome 145 group label rendering issue We identified a Chrome 145 regression where newly created tab group labels may not paint until manual interaction, even though group titles are correctly updated via the API. We partially mitigated this by reusing existing tab groups whenever possible, but newly created groups can still require one click to display the label. Issue reported to Chromium: https://issues.chromium.org/issues/483537691. Version 2.8 Superscript tab counts Tab group counts now appear as superscripts (e.g., NAV⁷) for a cleaner label. Inactive groups sort last Inactive groups are now always placed at the end when groups are sorted. Version 2.7 Inactive group label now uses 💤 Inactive tab groups now show 💤 instead of "Inactive" for a shorter label. Version 2.6 Account sync for settings and mappings Enable sync to keep your settings and custom host mappings consistent across devices. Version 2.5 URL-based tab sorting Tabs inside each group now sort by URL instead of title, keeping pages with identical names ordered predictably. Version 2.4 Unique tabs now use ● The unique tabs group now shows a bullet (●) and sorts first via a special key so it stays predictably at the front. Sort tabs within groups New context menu action to alphabetically sort tabs inside each group. Version 2.3 Inactive duration now flexible Inactive Duration is now a combo box: pick common values (Never, 1, 7, 14, 21, 30, 60, 90 days) or type any number you like. Type “Never” to keep inactive grouping off. Alphabetical tab group ordering After grouping finishes, tab groups are reordered in ASCII alphabetical order so names line up predictably across windows. Version 2.2 Protected groups with * Groups whose names start with * will never have their tabs moved to Inactive, so you can pin important workgroups in place. Version 2.1 Smarter group prefixes Auto-generated group names now extend beyond three characters or add numeric suffixes to avoid collisions in future grouping passes. Version 2.0 Added tutorial video Fixed subdomain naming bug Custom names now stick after regrouping, and default labels for subdomains use the main site instead of a generic prefix.
