The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.

About Omnibox Clear History

Ever have your inner Monk protest when the Omnibox is filled with nonsensical—or even private—recent Google searches? This extension removes the annoying default behavior for Chrome. Version 1.2: added options menu to configure custom domains that will not be added to Chrome history. Version 1.3: keep the extension alive, so it works continuously. Version 1.4: keep root urls in history for autocomplete. Version 1.5: better suspend/wakeup handling. Version 1.6: remove keep alive, not needed with supend/wakeup handling. Version 1.7: allow wildcard domains and more robust history collection. SOURCE https://github.com/rlindner81/omnibox-clear-history
