The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About NotePin – Private Notes for Web Pages
Keep your notes with the web pages they belong to.
NotePin is a free Chrome extension for saving quotes, ideas, and personal notes with their source links. Keep a useful passage from an article, a workaround from documentation, or the reason you want to revisit a product page. Find it later by what you wrote or where you found it.
SAVE TEXT, PAGES, AND LINKS
• Select text and use the right-click menu to open a note with the passage already filled in. Review it, add your thoughts, then save.
• Create a note for the current page or a link. NotePin keeps the source address and, when available, the page title.
• Return to unfinished drafts and assign your own keyboard shortcuts for faster capture.
KEEP NOTES BESIDE YOUR BROWSING
Use the toolbar popup for a quick note, the side panel to keep notes beside the page, or the fullscreen board to review your collection. Switch between notes for this page, this site, and all sites. The toolbar badge counts notes for the current site.
FIND AND ORGANIZE
Search note text, page titles, URLs, domains, and tags. Matching passages help you spot the relevant part. Organize with eight colors, custom color labels, up to five tags per note, and pinning. Combine filters and update tags or colors on several notes at once. Choose a comfortable or compact board layout, with light, dark, or system appearance.
SEE NOTES WHEN YOU RETURN
Enable optional in-page sticky notes to display matching notes in a movable panel on supported websites. Show notes for the whole site or one exact page, collapse the panel, or hide it temporarily. The panel is excluded from printouts and Save as PDF.
PRIVATE NOTES, UNDER YOUR CONTROL
No NotePin account, ads, or analytics inside the extension. Notes stay in your browser profile and are never sent to a NotePin server or published to the website. If browser sync is enabled, notes sync through your own signed-in Edge profile. Website access is requested only for page stickies; optional tab access is requested separately if you allow the side panel to follow pages.
Export notes to JSON for backup or transfer, Markdown for writing tools, or CSV for spreadsheets. Restore a NotePin JSON backup by merging or replacing your notes. A storage meter shows the browser sync quota, and a verified local recovery copy helps protect saved notes when sync is incomplete. You can also remove query strings and URL fragments from links you save.
Made for short notes: up to 2,000 characters per note, within your browser's sync storage limits.
Add NotePin and keep the useful thought connected to its source.
