About NoNames — Local Text Redaction
NoNames helps you replace sensitive details with consistent placeholders, review your text, and restore the originals when needed—all with local processing.
Use its integrated editor to prepare text for AI tools, emails, documents or wherever you need to share it. Open the side panel, enter your text, review the markings and copy the redacted result.
- Integrated editor: Edit text, adjust markings and preview the result before copying.
- Rule-based redaction: Combine built-in checks with reusable rules for names, companies, terms and patterns.
- File redaction: Apply your rules to Markdown, TXT, ODT, DOCX and PDF files.
- Rule import and export: Save and reuse your rule lists.
- Restoration: Paste a response containing your placeholders into the same NoNames workspace to restore the original values.
Extra convenience on ChatGPT:
NoNames can apply rules during ordinary pasting into ChatGPT. You can also enable draft checking before sending, insert reviewed text directly from the panel, apply rules to supported file uploads, and use “Copy with originals” to restore placeholders when copying an answer.
The standalone editor works while browsing other websites. Automatic page integration is limited to chatgpt.com; NoNames does not request access to other websites.
Processing runs locally, with no telemetry or uploads by NoNames. Rules and settings stay in your browser profile; checked text and restoration mappings use temporary session storage.
Detection can miss details. Review your text before sharing. Attachments, images and audio are not covered.
NoNames is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.
