The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Next Locator – Click to Open Next.js & React Code in VS Code & Cursor
Stop searching your codebase for the component you're looking at. Hold Alt, click any element in your Next.js or React app, and your code editor opens at the exact line where that JSX is written.
Next Locator is a click-to-component tool for Next.js and React developers. It works with VS Code, Cursor and Antigravity IDE, and it needs no setup: no npm packages, no Babel plugin, no changes to next.config.js.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Pick your editor and activation key in the extension popup.
2. Run your Next.js or React app in development (npm run dev).
3. Hold Alt (or Ctrl or Shift) and hover: a highlight shows the component name and file.
4. Click: the file opens in your editor at that exact line and column.
FEATURES
• Exact line and column, not just the file
• Zero setup: reads the debug information React already keeps in development
• React Server Components and Client Components
• App Router and Pages Router
• Turbopack and webpack
• Lands in your code: clicking the link rendered by next/link opens your <Link> line, not node_modules
• Choose Alt + Click, Ctrl + Click or Shift + Click to avoid conflicts with other tools
• Works with VS Code, Cursor and Antigravity IDE
COMPATIBILITY
• Next.js 15 and 16: exact line for App Router and Pages Router
• Next.js 14: exact line for the Pages Router; approximate location for the App Router
• React apps built with Vite (React 18 and 19): exact line
• Runs on development servers at http://localhost and http://127.0.0.1
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Next Locator only runs on localhost. It collects no data, has no analytics, and never sends your code anywhere. Your editor choice is saved with Chrome's own sync storage.
