About NewsBreak Pixel Detector
NewsBreak Pixel Detector shows you, on any page of your website, whether the NewsBreak pixel is installed and sending events, and whether those events carry the NewsBreak click ID (nb_cid) so your conversions can be attributed to your ads.
It is built for advertisers and the teams who set up tracking for them. No login is required.
WHAT YOU SEE
• Whether a NewsBreak pixel was detected on the current page, and how it was installed: custom code, Google Tag Manager, the Shopify App, or a Shopify custom pixel.
• Every pixel ID found on the site, with the events it sent on this page and across your whole visit.
• For each event: its name, when it fired, and the nb_cid it was sent with.
• A plain warning when events are missing nb_cid, when nb_cid was lost between pages of your funnel, or when a request was rejected or could not be sent.
HOW TO USE IT
1. Open your website in Chrome.
2. Click the NewsBreak Pixel Detector icon. The side panel opens and follows the tab you are on.
3. Browse your site the way a customer would: product page, add to cart, checkout. The panel updates as events fire.
4. To test attribution without clicking an ad, use the test link from Ad Manager (Tools → Event Management → Test events) and open it in the same tab.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
• It does not send anything to NewsBreak or to anyone else. Everything it shows is read from your own browser and kept there; it is cleared when the tab is closed.
• It does not change your website or your pixel.
• It does not track your browsing. It only looks for the NewsBreak pixel on the pages you open.
The pixel ID shown is your NewsBreak ad account ID, exactly as it appears in Ad Manager under Tools → Event Management.
