The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Network Throttler - Slow Network Simulator
Does your web app still work on a slow connection?
Network Throttler is a Chrome extension that deliberately throttles the network speed of the current tab, reproducing slow internet environments. A web app that feels snappy on your office fiber can fall apart on mobile networks or crowded public Wi-Fi. See the slowness your customers actually experience — before you ship.
■ Features
- One-click presets for typical connections: Fiber / 4G LTE / Fast 3G / Slow 3G / carrier low-speed mode (128Kbps)
- Custom settings: any download/upload speed (Kbps) and latency (ms)
- Per-tab throttling: only the tab under test slows down; other tabs and apps are unaffected
- "ON" badge on the toolbar icon while active; clear with one click
- Available in Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish (follows your browser language)
■ Why install it
1. Catch slow-connection UX issues before release
Missing spinners, timeouts, late-loading images breaking the layout — problems invisible on fast connections become obvious immediately.
2. Zero setup
No proxy tools, router tweaks, or dedicated test lines. It works the moment you install it.
3. Test without opening DevTools
The same throttling mechanism as Chrome DevTools, without giving up screen space for the DevTools panel. Non-engineer testers can use it with a single click.
4. Share consistent test conditions across the team
Bug reports become reproducible: "layout breaks on Slow 3G" tells everyone exactly how to reproduce it.
■ Privacy
This extension collects no browsing data or personal information and never communicates with external servers. Throttling uses Chrome's official debugger API (the same mechanism as DevTools), and Chrome shows a banner on the tab while it is active.
■ Support development
This extension is free to use. If it helps you, consider supporting development on Ko-fi (https://ko-fi.com/nkdlabo).
