About MultiSub Viewer : Netflix Dual Subtitle Language Learner
MultiSub Viewer — Netflix Multi-Subtitle + Language Learning Extension
MultiSub Viewer lets you watch Netflix with up to three subtitles displayed simultaneously — Korean, English, and Japanese — while building vocabulary and saving sentences for later review.
■ Who is this for?
- Language learners studying English or Japanese through dramas and movies
- Viewers who want to enjoy Netflix content in its original language
- Anyone who wants to systematically collect vocabulary and phrases from subtitles
- People looking to compare Korean, English, and Japanese side by side to develop translation intuition
■ Key Features
▶ Three subtitles at once
Display Korean, English, and Japanese subtitles together on a single screen without overlapping. Freely assign any language to slots 1, 2, and 3. Adjust font size per language and fine-tune subtitle position (vertical and horizontal) using sliders.
▶ Save sentences for review
Tap the star button next to any subtitle line to save it along with all three language versions, the show title, and a timestamp. Browse saved sentences sorted by time or by show, and export them as a tab-separated file (TSV) for use in spreadsheets or flashcard apps.
▶ Word frequency analysis
The extension automatically counts how often each word appears in the current episode. Switch to cumulative mode to see vocabulary that recurs across multiple shows — great for identifying the most important words to learn. Japanese text is tokenized using morphological analysis for accurate word-level splitting.
▶ Repeat playback and speed control
Repeat any subtitle segment 3 or 5 times to practice listening, or slow playback down to 0.8× when dialogue moves too fast. Speed up to 1.5× to power through easier content.
▶ Flexible subtitle positioning
Use the settings panel to move subtitles up, down, left, or right with sliders. Subtitle size can be adjusted independently per language. The overlay automatically stays within the video area and avoids the side panel.
▶ Automatic subtitle loading with retry
The extension loads subtitle files in the background without interrupting playback. If a load fails, it retries automatically. When you skip to a new episode, subtitles reload seamlessly.
■ How to use
1. Install the extension and open any Netflix watch page.
2. A panel appears automatically on the right side of the screen.
3. Go to the Settings tab and assign your preferred language to slots 1, 2, and 3.
4. Watch the Subtitles tab for live subtitles — star any line to save it.
5. Check the Words tab for vocabulary stats for the current episode or across all shows.
■ Privacy and permissions
This extension does not collect, transmit, or share any Netflix subtitle data with external servers. All saved sentences and word data are stored locally in your browser and can be deleted at any time from the Settings tab.
Required permissions:
- storage: Save subtitle data, word statistics, and settings
- Access to netflix.com: Receive subtitle files and switch subtitle tracks
■ Notes
- A Netflix account with subtitle access is required.
- Subtitle availability depends on the title and your region.
- Netflix platform updates may occasionally affect extension behavior.
