The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.

About MonkeyScript

MonkeyScript is a userscript manager for Chrome that lets you run your own custom JavaScript on any website. Hide page elements you never use, restyle sites with custom CSS, add missing keyboard shortcuts, auto-fill repetitive forms, or automate small browser tasks — if it can be done in the browser console, a userscript makes it permanent. If you're looking for a Tampermonkey alternative or a Greasemonkey-style script manager that is private by design and built on modern Chrome APIs, MonkeyScript is exactly that: a script editor and a manager, nothing else. WHAT IS A USERSCRIPT MANAGER? A userscript manager runs small JavaScript programs (userscripts) on websites you choose. Write a script once, tell MonkeyScript which sites it belongs to using @match patterns, and it runs automatically on every visit. MonkeyScript uses the standard ==UserScript== metadata format, so scripts and knowledge from Tampermonkey, Greasemonkey, or Violentmonkey carry over directly. KEY FEATURES ★ Built-in JavaScript code editor with syntax highlighting — write and edit userscripts without leaving the browser ★ @match URL patterns control exactly which websites each script runs on ★ Toolbar popup shows which scripts are active on the current tab, with one-click enable/disable ★ GM storage API (GM.getValue / GM.setValue) lets scripts remember settings between visits ★ Import and export: full JSON backup, individual .user.js files, or import existing userscripts ★ Compatible with the standard ==UserScript== metadata block (@name, @match, @run-at, @grant) WHY CHOOSE MONKEYSCRIPT? Private by design. No accounts, no sync servers, no analytics, no tracking, zero network requests. Every script and every byte of data stays in your browser's local storage. Nothing ever leaves your device. Built on Chrome's official User Scripts API and Manifest V3 — the modern, Google-sanctioned way to run userscripts, with no legacy workarounds. Safe importing. Imported scripts arrive disabled, with a preview showing exactly which websites they would run on. Nothing executes until you've reviewed it and switched it on. Isolated scripts. Each userscript runs in its own sandbox — one script can never read another script's stored data. Lightweight. No bundled script catalogs, no ads, no upsells, no features you didn't ask for. HOW TO GET STARTED Install MonkeyScript, then open the extension's Details page and enable "Allow User Scripts" (Chrome requires this one-time step for every userscript manager). Click the toolbar icon → Dashboard → New script. A working userscript template appears. Edit it, save with Ctrl+S, and visit a matching site — your script runs. A note on safety: userscripts run with full access to the pages they match. Only install scripts you trust or have read yourself. MonkeyScript is a free userscript manager for Chrome — the simple, private way to customize websites with your own JavaScript.
