About Modex
Customize any website without writing a line of code.
Modex turns plain-language requests into working browser extensions. Open the Modex side panel, describe what you want, like "hide the comments on news sites," "add a dark mode to this page," or "highlight prices under $20," and Modex's AI builds an extension for you. Turn it on, and it runs on the websites you visit.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Create extensions with Magic Prompt: describe what you want in everyday words, and Modex builds it.
• Turn extensions on and off with one tap, including a set of ready-made default extensions.
• Use extension tools on the page you're viewing, with simple controls like text boxes, sliders and toggles.
• Keep working while an extension is being built. A badge on the Modex icon lets you know when it's ready, and you can retry any that don't finish.
• Use one Modex account everywhere. Extensions and tokens are shared with the Modex mobile app and desktop browser.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Click the Modex icon or press Alt+Shift+M (Option+Shift+M on Mac) to open the side panel.
2. Sign in or create a free account.
3. Tap Magic Prompt and describe what you want.
4. Turn the extension on, and it runs on matching websites.
TOKENS
Creating extensions uses tokens. You can buy token packs securely through Stripe from inside the side panel. Your balance is shared with every Modex app you use.
ONE-TIME SETUP
Modex runs your extensions with Chrome's built-in user scripts feature. The first time, the side panel walks you through turning on "Allow user scripts" (Chrome 138+) or Developer mode (Chrome 120–137). It takes about 10 seconds.
PRIVACY
Your extensions run only on the pages where you turn them on. Modex doesn't read or send page content when it builds an extension. Data your extensions save stays in your browser and is kept separate for each website.
