METU Course Capacity Tracker

Follow METU course capacity and available seats in one panel. METU Course Capacity Tracker checks your selected courses one at a time on the open student portal’s Course Capacity page. Add up to 20 courses and choose all sections or specific section numbers for each course. - See capacity, used capacity, available seats and the last successful check time. - Get name suggestions for known course codes from the packaged METU catalog, or enter your own name. - Pause individual courses or pause and resume all tracking. - Use the on-page panel, Chrome side panel or extension Options dashboard. - Switch between Turkish and English interfaces and notifications. - Connect the shared Telegram bot or use Settings → Your own bot. Telegram is optional; one notification connection is active at a time. - Optionally enable session renewal with METU login details encrypted in this Chrome profile. You can skip this and sign in yourself when needed. - Verification images are processed on your device without an external OCR service. - Manage tracking or pause all automatic extension activity from the toolbar status popup. To connect the shared bot, create a QR link in the extension, press Start in Telegram and enter the bot’s eight-digit code. Pairing expires no later than 15 minutes after QR creation. Connection testing sends a test message to your own chat. To use your own bot, follow Settings → Your own bot: create it with BotFather, paste its token, choose Prepare bot link → Open my bot, and press Start in Telegram. The extension finds your private chat automatically; no Chat ID lookup or entry is needed. It saves the connection after a successful test. A personal bot avoids the shared notification queue and may deliver sooner during busy periods; Telegram limits and network delays still apply. Enable notifications and sound for both the Telegram app and your bot’s chat. A newly added course can prepare an alert if its first successful check finds seats in your selected sections. Later capacity or used-capacity changes can also prepare alerts. Unchanged results are not repeatedly notified. Changing section selection applies the new scope to the next successful result. Packaged catalog names do not establish current-semester availability or available seats. Desktop Chrome 120 or later is required. Keep your computer awake and online, with Chrome and the METU capacity tab open. Your phone can receive Telegram messages; course checks run on your desktop. This package does not support mobile browsers, Safari or Firefox. Choose a 15, 20, 30, 45 or 60-second query interval; the default is 30 seconds. It applies to the entire course queue, not independently to each course. Portal responses, verification images, Chrome’s background behavior, the network and Telegram can delay checks or alerts. Instant or one-minute delivery, perfect image reading and uninterrupted operation are not guaranteed. An explicit portal access block stops automatic queries, refreshes and sign-in. Capacity observations do not reserve a seat. Courses, settings, results, history and optional login/Telegram records are encrypted in your local Chrome profile. The panel-collapse preference is stored locally without account details. METU usernames and passwords are used only with the verified METU sign-in form; they are not sent to the publisher or Telegram. Shared-bot pairing data and short notices pass through the shared service and Telegram. Personal-bot tokens, chat addresses and messages go directly to Telegram.
