Meeting Guard – Auto Mute & Camera Protection

Never join a meeting with your mic or camera on by accident again. Meeting Guard automatically mutes your microphone and turns off your camera before you join Google Meet —so you're never caught off guard by a hot mic or an unexpected camera feed. If you've ever unmuted mid-meeting when you meant to, joined with your camera already on, or worried about what's happening in the background before you're ready, this extension solves that. ➤ Key Features • Auto-mute on join — Your microphone is muted automatically the moment you enter a Google Meet call • Camera off by default — Your camera stays off until you choose to turn it on • Confirmation before activation — Get a prompt before enabling mic or camera, so nothing turns on without your say-so • Simple, lightweight settings — Toggle auto-mute, camera behavior, and confirmations from a clean settings panel • Zero data collection — No audio, video, analytics, or tracking. Your settings are stored locally via Chrome Sync — nothing else leaves your device ➤ Why people use Meeting Guard • Stop accidental hot mic moments during calls • Prevent your camera from turning on before you're camera-ready • Add a safety layer for shared computers, co-working spaces, or family devices • Build a "mute and camera-off by default" habit for every meeting • Peace of mind that no meeting app can activate your mic or camera without confirmation ➤ Privacy first Meeting Guard doesn't record, store, or transmit any meeting content, audio, or video. It only reads which meeting platform you're on to apply the right settings, nothing else. Currently supports: Google Meet (more platforms coming soon)
