MBG Price Converter

Every price you see online now tells you something more interesting: how many days of Indonesia's free school meals program it could fund. Indonesia's Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG) program feeds millions of schoolchildren every day at a cost of Rp 1.2 trillion per day. That number is hard to picture in the abstract. This extension makes it concrete, by replacing every price on every page you visit with its MBG equivalent. A $200 flight? That's about 2.8 MBG minutes. A $1,500 laptop? Roughly 21 MBG minutes. A $400,000 apartment? Just over 1 MBG hour. The math is accurate. The effect is illuminating. What it does - Automatically detects and replaces prices across 50+ popular e-commerce, travel, and booking websites - Supports 17 currencies: IDR, USD, EUR, GBP, SGD, MYR, AUD, JPY, THB, PHP, VND, HKD, TWD, KRW, CNY, INR, and AED - Handles dynamically loaded pages (React, SPAs): Prices are caught as they appear, not just on first load - Displays in the most readable unit automatically: days for large amounts, hours or minutes for smaller ones - Shows labels in Indonesian (*Hari/Jam/Menit MBG*) on Indonesian-language pages, English everywhere else - Includes a built-in calculator to convert any amount manually - Toggle conversion on or off instantly from the extension popup — original prices are restored without reloading Why install it Large government budget numbers are designed to be incomprehensible. This extension is a simple tool for reframing them against the prices you actually encounter. Whether you find it thought-provoking, absurd, or both — the numbers don't lie. *Exchange rates fixed as of March 30, 2026 (source: xe.com).
