The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Markdown Viewer Premium
Markdown Viewer Premium turns Markdown files you open in Chrome into clean, readable documents — with diagrams, charts, math and highlighted code — instead of plain text. Everything is rendered in your browser and works offline.
FORMATTED PREVIEW
• GitHub Flavored Markdown: tables, task lists, footnotes, GitHub alerts and Obsidian callouts.
• Code highlighting for over 100 programming languages, with a copy button on every block.
• Math formulas written in LaTeX.
• Five themes: light, dark, system, sepia and solarized. Interface in English, Japanese and Vietnamese.
DIAGRAMS AND CHARTS
Write them in code blocks inside your Markdown and they are drawn in place:
• Mermaid — flowcharts, sequence, class, state and ER diagrams, Gantt charts, mind maps and more, with an interactive view you can zoom and pan.
• PlantUML, Graphviz and Vega-Lite charts, rendered without any server.
EXPORT
• Save the document as PDF, Word or a standalone HTML file, with diagrams and formulas included.
• Copy it as Jira or Backlog markup, ready to paste into a ticket.
NAVIGATION
• An outline of the headings beside the text, which you can resize or hide.
• Search inside the document and keyboard shortcuts (press ? to see them).
BACKLOG AND JIRA
• Files written in Backlog or Jira wiki notation are shown formatted too.
• On a Markdown file in Backlog Git, a Preview button appears next to Download and History and shows the file formatted, using your existing Backlog sign-in.
HOW TO USE
• Open a link to a raw Markdown file — for example a raw file on GitHub or GitLab — and it is shown formatted. Regular web pages are left as they are.
• For files on your computer, open chrome://extensions, choose Details for Markdown Viewer Premium and turn on "Allow access to file URLs". Then drag a file into Chrome.
PRIVACY
The extension collects no data and has no analytics. Documents are rendered in your browser and are never sent anywhere.
