The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Markdown Toolkit
Markdown Toolkit turns any Markdown file — on your computer or on the web — into a clean, beautiful, readable page. No copy-pasting into an online editor, no uploading your files anywhere. Just open a .md file and read it the way it was meant to look.
Everything renders locally in your browser. Your files never leave your machine.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
WHAT IT DOES
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
• Instant preview for .md, .markdown and .mdx files — both local (file://) and on the web
• Full GitHub-Flavored Markdown: headings, tables, task lists, code blocks, blockquotes, footnotes
• Interactive Mermaid diagrams — flowcharts, sequence, class, ER, Gantt and more, with zoom, pan, fit and a fullscreen lightbox
• Beautiful math with KaTeX — inline and block LaTeX equations
• Syntax highlighting for dozens of languages powered by Shiki
• Automatic table of contents for quick navigation
• A symbol / emoji palette for fast insertion
• One-click export to HTML, and print-to-PDF for a polished document
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
MADE TO LOOK GOOD
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
• Auto, light and dark themes that follow your system
• Adjustable font size and typography
• Clean, distraction-free reading layout rendered in an isolated Shadow DOM so page styles never interfere
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
• 100% local rendering — no servers, no tracking, no accounts
• Your documents are never uploaded or sent anywhere
• Settings sync only through your own Chrome account (chrome.storage.sync)
• Free and open source — MIT licensed
