The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Mailcheck: Email Tracker for Gmail & Zoho Mail
Mailcheck adds email open tracking directly inside your webmail.
Turn on tracking for an email in one click, and know whether it was opened, when,
and how many times.
Features:
- Works in Gmail, Zoho Mail and other webmails. Full list on getmailcheck.com.
- Per-email toggle (Tracking ON / OFF in the mailcheck bar of the compose window)
- Click tracking (beta): a Clicks ON / OFF toggle, email by email
- Browser notification the moment an email is opened
- A check mark next to the recipient in your Sent folder: tracked, then opened
- Full history and stats in your mailcheck dashboard
- Sender, recipient, subject and open count
- Your own re-reads are filtered out, so the numbers reflect the recipient
How it works:
You choose whether to enable tracking while composing, and you get alerted the
moment your email is opened.
Account required:
The extension works with a mailcheck account. Free tier: up to 10 tracked emails
per month, in one mail client. Unlimited tracking on every mail client included
in every paid plan.
Privacy:
By default the extension records only what is needed to tell you an email was
opened: subject, recipient, sender and open timestamps. It does not read the
text of your messages.
Two exceptions, only if you turn them on, email by email:
- Clicks ON: when you send, the links in that message are replaced with tracking
links. The address of each link is sent to our server, which then redirects
the reader to the original page. The text of the message is not sent.
- Checky: the text of that message is sent to our API so the assistant can draft
a follow-up. The text is stored encrypted, kept for 90 days at most, deleted
immediately if you turn the setting off, and processed by our AI provider in
the United States. If you never turn Checky on, no message text ever leaves
your browser.
We never request Gmail API access, so the extension cannot send, modify or delete
anything in your mailbox. No remote code is loaded: everything it runs is in the
package reviewed by the Chrome Web Store.

Changelog:
2026-09-29 (0.1.6)
- Hostinger Mail: tracking now works on mail.hostinger.com. The Tracking ON and
Clicks ON toggles sit just above the Send button. They are separate from
Hostinger's own tracking option and leave it untouched.
- Mail Orange: tracking now works in the Orange webmail, for emails written in
rich text. A plain text email cannot carry the tracking pixel.
- Your own re-reads are filtered out on both.
- The toggles bar in the compose window now carries the mailcheck logo.
2026-09-27 (0.1.5)
- New Clicks ON / OFF toggle in the compose window: click tracking is now decided
email by email, right next to Tracking ON. Your dashboard setting becomes the
default.
- The mailcheck toggles now sit together in their own bar in the compose window.
- Beta: tracking now also works in Outlook on the web (personal accounts on
outlook.live.com) and in SFR webmail.
- Zoho Mail: tracking now works in every Zoho data centre.
2026-09-08 (0.1.1)
- Click tracking (beta): turn it on in your dashboard and see how many times the
links in your tracked emails were clicked. Link-by-link detail is included in
paid plans.
- Tracking addresses move to getmailcheck.com.
2026-09-04 (0.1.0)
- Mailcheck is now available in 19 languages.
- mailcheck now lives at getmailcheck.com. Emails already sent keep reporting
their opens: nothing is lost in the move.
- The extension now gets its addresses from the API, so a change of domain no
longer requires an update.
2026-08-22
- Tracking now tells you when you've hit the monthly free limit, instead of
silently stopping.
- Connecting mailcheck on one browser no longer signs you out on your other devices.
- The extension now follows your browser language.
