About Mad Octopus Bundle Autopilot
Bundle Autopilot is the companion extension for the Mad Octopus Dev Hub (madoctopus.fun/bundles), a free matchmaking hub where indie Steam developers find bundle partners.
Valve offers no API for Steam bundles - every bundle is built by hand in the Steamworks partner site. Once you and a partner have matched in the Dev Hub, Autopilot does those steps for you, in your own browser and your own Steamworks session, in any Steamworks language:
- Creates the bundle with the agreed name and discount
- Adds your game's store package, picked by its id (never demo, reviewer or beta packages)
- Turns on collaboration and sends the invite link straight into your match
- Writes the bundle description and uploads the 4 bundle images from your kit, after you confirm Steam's image rules
- Locks the bundle, approves it and applies the approved changes - each one only after you confirm it, because Steam treats them as final
- Ticks the shared launch checklist so your partner sees progress, and shows a badge on the toolbar icon when a bundle step waits for you
Curator Connect: on your game's Curator Connect page the extension offers to add the Mad Octopus vetted Steam curators that fit your game. It reads each curator's top tags from Steam's own curator search, leaves out adult-only and VR-only curators (unless your game is one) and specialists in other genres, puts the best fits first and fills in a message from your store page. You check the list and the message and confirm once; curators who already got the game are skipped next time.
Every step is checked on the page after it ran, and the extension stops and tells you what to do whenever something is ambiguous - it never guesses and it never removes anything. Publishing the store page and setting the bundle live stay your own clicks.
Connecting takes one click: open the Bundle Autopilot tab in your Dev Hub and press Connect.
Free for Dev Hub members. Built by Mad Octopus, an indie Steam publisher.
