About Lyriq - YouTube Music Lyrics
Lyriq is a YouTube Music lyrics extension that shows time-synced lyrics in a floating glass widget on any tab you browse.
If you have ever wanted lyrics for YouTube Music without staying stuck on music.youtube.com, Lyriq is built for that. Start a song in YouTube Music, then keep working, studying, or browsing — Lyriq follows the track with the previous, current, and next lyric line so you never lose your place. It is a lightweight synced lyrics overlay and mini player for YouTube Music, designed to stay out of your way until you need it.
WHY LYRIQ
YouTube Music is great for listening, but reading along is harder when you are on another site. Lyriq brings YouTube Music lyrics to the tabs you already use. See karaoke-style synced lyrics while you code, write, shop, or read — without constantly switching back to the player. The floating lyrics widget keeps album art, title, artist, and the active lyric line on screen as the song plays.
FEATURES
• Synced YouTube Music lyrics on every open tab — previous, current, and next lines update in real time
• Floating glass lyrics overlay with album art, song title, and artist
• Three-line lyrics view so you always have context around the current line
• Draggable lyrics widget — move it anywhere; position syncs across tabs
• Optional YouTube Music playback controls (previous, play/pause, next, seek, shuffle, repeat) — off by default for a clean look
• Seek bar and ±5 second skip when controls are enabled
• Click album cover art to jump back to your YouTube Music tab
• Minimize to a compact title bar when you want a smaller footprint
• Hide the lyrics widget on specific websites from the toolbar popup
• Album-art color tint — the glass panel adapts to the current cover
• Lyrics from lrclib.net — fetched directly for the playing track, with no Lyriq server in the middle
• Clear status when lyrics are loading, instrumental, or not found — no wrong lyrics forced on screen
HOW TO USE
1. Install Lyriq and pin it from the Chrome toolbar if you like.
2. Open YouTube Music (music.youtube.com) and start playing a track. Keep that tab open in the background.
3. Open any other website — the synced lyrics overlay appears when a track is active.
4. Use the Lyriq popup to turn the overlay on or off, show the widget, enable playback controls, or hide Lyriq on the current site.
5. Drag the widget where you want it. Click the cover to return to YouTube Music anytime.
PERFECT FOR
• Following along with YouTube Music lyrics while you multitask
• Learning song words with a simple previous / current / next line layout
• Controlling playback from another tab without leaving your work
• Keeping a discreet lyrics display on screen instead of a full player window
PERMISSIONS & PRIVACY
Lyriq needs access to YouTube Music to read the current song, artist, album art, and playback position so lyrics can stay in sync. It needs access to other sites only to draw the floating lyrics overlay — it does not read or send the content of those pages. Lyrics are looked up on lrclib.net using the track title, artist, and duration. Your listening data is not sent to a Lyriq server. There is no account, no ads, and no analytics. Settings stay in your browser.
Lyriq is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube, Google, or LRCLIB.
