The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About LinkedIn Comment Generator - AI Reply Writer
THE PROBLEM WITH LINKEDIN COMMENTS
You see a post worth responding to. You click "Comment" and the cursor blinks. You type "Great post!" and immediately delete it. You know that kind of reply adds nothing. So you try again, spend two minutes crafting something thoughtful, and then wonder if it even sounds professional.
Most people give up at that point. They close the comment box and scroll on. The post author never hears from them. The conversation stays shallow. Opportunities to connect, to be noticed, to build a reputation as someone who contributes - all lost to the blank cursor.
This is not about writing skills. It is about friction. Even strong writers struggle to comment consistently on LinkedIn, because every comment demands context switching. You have to read carefully, form an opinion, match the right tone, and write something that does not sound generic. That takes mental energy. Multiply it across ten posts and your day is gone.
WHY LINKEDIN COMMENTING IS UNIQUELY DIFFICULT
LinkedIn is not Twitter. Short one-liners feel lazy here. LinkedIn is not email either. Long paragraphs feel out of place in a comment thread.
The sweet spot is narrow. A LinkedIn comment needs to:
- Show you actually read the post, not just the headline
- Add a perspective the author did not already cover
- Match the tone of the conversation, whether serious, celebratory, or exploratory
- Sound like you, not like a template
- Be concise enough to read in five seconds
Getting all of that right, every time, on every post, is exhausting. That is why most LinkedIn comment sections are full of "Congratulations!" and "So true!" and not much else. The barrier is not motivation. It is effort.
WHAT THIS EXTENSION DOES
LinkedIn Comment Generator reads the post you are about to comment on and drafts three professional comment options for you. You pick the one that fits, edit it if you want, and insert it into the comment box. You always review before posting. The extension never submits anything on your behalf.
All generation happens on your device using Chrome's built-in AI (Gemini Nano). There is no server, no API key, no account. Your comments are never uploaded, stored, or analyzed by anyone.
Here is what you get:
5 Professional Tones - Choose the angle that fits the post:
- Insightful: Add a concrete observation or lived-experience detail that extends the post
- Supportive: Affirm the specific point that mattered, with warmth and substance
- Question: End with a genuine, specific question that invites the author to say more
- Contrarian: Respectfully offer a different angle or a trade-off the post missed
- Congrats: Celebrate a specific milestone with one sentence of warmth and one of substance
3 Variants Per Click - Every generation produces three different comments, each taking a different angle. Not just rewording, but genuinely different perspectives. Pick the one that resonates.
Adjustable Length - Short (1 sentence, under 20 words), Medium (2 sentences, 25-45 words), or Long (3 sentences, 50-70 words). Set it once in the popup, or change it per post.
Multi-Language - Comments are generated in your chosen language. Supports English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and more.
Personal Context - Add a one-line description of yourself ("I run a 3-person design studio", "VP of Sales at a SaaS company") and the AI uses it to make comments sound like they come from someone with your background. Stored locally, never sent anywhere.
Emoji Control - Toggle emoji on or off. When on, the AI uses at most one emoji, only when it fits naturally.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Open any LinkedIn post and expand the comment section
2. See the "AI comment" button appear above the comment box
3. Click it, pick a tone. Three comment drafts appear instantly
4. Click "Use" on the one you like. It fills the comment box. Review it, edit if you want, then click Post yourself
That is the entire workflow. No popups to navigate, no settings to configure first. It works out of the box with sensible defaults.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CHROME AI IS NOT AVAILABLE
Chrome's built-in AI (Gemini Nano) requires Chrome 138 or later on desktop. If your browser does not support it yet, the extension automatically switches to a built-in template library. You still get three comment suggestions per click, written in professional language, with tone matching. They are not AI-generated, but they are better than a blank cursor.
The extension tells you which mode it is running in. A green "on-device" badge means AI is active. A grey "templates" badge means it is using the fallback library.
WHY ON-DEVICE AI MATTERS
Every other LinkedIn comment tool charges a monthly subscription because they run AI on their servers. That means your post data goes to their backend, gets processed, and comes back. You pay for the compute. You trust them with your LinkedIn activity.
This extension flips that model. Chrome's built-in AI runs entirely on your machine. The post text never leaves your browser tab. There is no server to maintain, no API cost to pass on, no data to protect. That is why it is free with no usage limits.
WHAT THIS EXTENSION DOES NOT DO
- It does not auto-submit comments. You always click Post yourself
- It does not scrape LinkedIn profiles or export any data
- It does not send your LinkedIn activity to any server
- It does not require an account, login, or API key
- It does not inject ads, trackers, or analytics scripts
- It does not modify LinkedIn's interface beyond adding the comment button
The only permission it uses:
- storage: Saves your preferences (tone, length, emoji toggle, language, personal context) locally in Chrome. Nothing is synced to any external service.
