About Link Alpha: Find Broken Links

Link Alpha – Broken Link Checker & Website Link Auditor Link Alpha helps you check links on the webpage you're viewing, identify potential issues, and organize the results into a clear report, all from Chrome. Instead of opening URLs one at a time, Link Alpha discovers the links on the current page and checks their destinations. You can review the results, investigate individual links, save previous scans, locate links directly on the page, and export reports for further analysis. Scan Links on the Current Webpage Open Link Alpha on the page you want to inspect and start a link check. The extension discovers the links present on that page and checks their destinations. This makes it easier to review a page containing many references without manually opening each URL. Understand Link Status Link Alpha organizes results into six categories: All Working — The destination responded successfully. Redirect — The URL redirects to another destination. Broken — A problem with the destination was confirmed. A failed request does not necessarily mean that a destination is broken. Websites can restrict automated requests, require authentication, experience temporary network problems, or respond differently to different types of requests. Link Alpha separates these situations where possible so results can be interpreted more carefully. Save and Review Scan History Scan results are saved locally so you can return to them later. Close the extension and come back to review previous scans without having to repeat the same check immediately. Scan history makes it easier to revisit pages, investigate previous findings, and keep track of checks performed through the extension. Export Scan Reports Export your results in CSV or JSON format. Exports can be useful when you want to document findings, review results in a spreadsheet, troubleshoot individual links, or keep a copy of a scan for later reference. Locate Links on the Page Found a link that needs investigation? Use the locate and highlight feature to find the corresponding link directly on the webpage. This connects the result in the Link Alpha dashboard with the actual link on the page. Designed with Permissions in Mind Link Alpha uses Chrome's extension capabilities to access webpage links and perform link checks. Some destinations may restrict automated requests, require authentication, or prevent a definitive response from being obtained. Link Alpha does not attempt to bypass website security controls, and some destinations may therefore remain inconclusive. Focused on the Page You're Viewing LinkAlpha keeps the workflow focused: open a page, check its links, review the results, and investigate anything that needs attention. Frequently Asked Questions What is Link Alpha? Link Alpha is a Chrome extension that checks links found on the webpage you're viewing and organizes the results into an easy-to-review report. How do I use Link Alpha? Open the webpage you want to check and launch Link Alpha from Chrome. The extension identifies links on the page and processes them so you can review their results from the dashboard. Does Link Alpha check every link on a webpage? Link Alpha attempts to process the links it can identify on the current webpage. The final result can depend on the type of link, the destination server, network conditions, and restrictions imposed by the destination. Can Link Alpha identify broken links? Yes. Link Alpha can identify destinations where a broken-link condition can be confirmed. It also separates redirects and inconclusive requests so that an unsuccessful check is not automatically treated as a broken destination. Why can a link be inconclusive? Some websites restrict automated requests or require authentication. Network errors, timeouts, redirects, and browser security restrictions can also prevent a reliable determination. In these situations, Link Alpha may not be able to confirm the destination's status. Does a redirect mean the link is broken? Not necessarily. A redirect is different from a confirmed broken destination. Link Alpha reports redirects separately so you can decide whether the destination behavior is expected or requires attention. Can I check links that point to other websites? Link Alpha can process external destinations found on the page. However, the destination's server and browser security restrictions can affect what information the extension is able to determine. Does Link Alpha crawl an entire website? Yes. Link Alpha can crawl every page on a website. Can I save my previous results? Yes. Link Alpha saves scan information locally so previous results can be revisited through the scan history. Can I export my results? Yes. Scan results can be exported as CSV or JSON for further review, documentation, troubleshooting, or analysis. Can I find a scanned link on the webpage? Yes. The locate and highlight feature helps you find a particular scanned link directly on the page. Does Link Alpha send my browsing history to a server? Link Alpha's core functionality uses information from the webpage being checked to perform its link-checking operation. Scan history is stored locally by the extension. See the privacy policy for complete information about data handling. Does Link Alpha work on every webpage? The extension can check links on many webpages, but Chrome restrictions and website behavior can affect some pages or destinations. Certain browser-protected pages and destinations that restrict automated requests may not be fully checkable. What happens if a website does not allow automated requests? Link Alpha does not attempt to bypass access controls. Depending on the response available to the extension, the result may be classified as blocked or inconclusive rather than being presented as a confirmed broken link. Is Link Alpha suitable for checking a page before publishing? Yes. You can use it to review the links on a page and investigate destinations…
