About LingoFrame
LingoFrame translates the part of a webpage you choose, with each translation displayed immediately after its original text. Read articles, technical documentation, comments, and discussions in a bilingual layout without losing context.
Click the LingoFrame toolbar icon or press Alt+Shift+L, point to the region you want to read, and click to translate. Press Esc to cancel region selection.
Key features:
- Translate text on demand within a selected region, including articles, comments, chat messages, tables, and sidebars.
- Read original and translated text together, with support for links, bold, italics, and inline code formatting.
- Connect to DeepSeek, OpenAI Chat Completions-compatible providers, or a local model service.
- Translate into Simplified Chinese by default, choose another target language, or enter a custom language.
- Customize translation instructions for terminology, tone, and writing style.
- Use the settings interface in Simplified Chinese or English, following your browser language or your own selection.
Before using LingoFrame, enter your own provider API key and choose a service and model in settings. The extension is free; your translation provider may charge for API usage.
Text in the region you select is sent directly to your configured translation provider. Your API key and settings are stored in your local browser. LingoFrame does not operate an intermediary translation server.
