The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Line by Line Reader
Long articles can be exhausting: crowded pages, adverts, pop-ups, and endless lines of text that make it easy to lose your place. Line by Line Reader strips the page back to just the article and guides your eyes through it, one line at a time.
It was built with brain injury and reading fatigue in mind, but anyone who finds busy web pages tiring can use it.
HOW IT WORKS
Open an article, click the extension (or press Alt+R), and the page becomes a calm, single-column reader. One line is highlighted at a time. Press the down arrow to move to the next line and the up arrow to go back. Your place stays steady on screen, so your eyes don't have to hunt for it.
WHY YOU'LL LIKE IT
- Only the article. Menus, adverts, sidebars, comments and pop-ups are removed.
- One line at a time, or one paragraph at a time. Long paragraphs are split into short chunks of up to four lines.
- Everything else fades back, so you can focus on what you're reading.
- Images stay out of the way as small empty squares and only open up when the highlight reaches them, so pictures don't pull your attention away.
- Comfortable colours: cream, white, soft blue, dark and black, each with its own highlight colour.
- Adjustable text size and a choice of clear sans-serif or serif fonts.
- Remembers your place in each article and your settings.
- Simple controls that tuck away while you read, plus a Back to top button when you need it.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Line by Line Reader doesn't collect, track or send any of your data. It only runs on the page you choose, when you click it. Your settings and reading position are stored on your own device.
Works on most news sites, magazines and blogs. Made by Good Brain Day, a brain injury support project.
