The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Lexora - Language Assistant
Lexora is an AI-assisted multilingual reading layer for your browser.
Read, translate, and understand content in different languages without leaving the page.
Instead of translating entire websites by default, Lexora focuses on what you want to understand. Select a word, phrase, sentence, or paragraph to access translation, contextual explanations, pronunciation, and additional reading support.
TRANSLATION THAT FITS YOUR NEEDS
Lexora offers three translation modes:
• On-device Translation — Translate supported languages using Chrome's built-in Translator API. No separate AI software or API key is required. After the necessary language packs are downloaded, supported translations can work offline.
• Google Translate — Use online machine translation for everyday reading.
• Cloud AI — Connect supported providers, including Google Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic, using your own API key.
Choose the mode that best matches your preferences for convenience, translation quality, and privacy.
KEY FEATURES
• Contextual translation of selected text
• Explanation and definition support for reading comprehension
• Pronunciation and IPA support where available
• Japanese reading assistance, including furigana support
• Wikipedia and Wikidata context for related concepts and entities
• YouTube subtitle reading support
• Configurable translation modes and cloud AI providers
• Clear translation status and provider-specific error messages
• A focused reading panel that keeps you on the original page
BUILT FOR FOCUSED READING
Lexora is designed for language learners, students, researchers, translators, and anyone who reads multilingual content online.
Whether you are studying English, reading Japanese articles, exploring technical documentation, or looking up unfamiliar expressions, Lexora helps you understand selected content while preserving your reading flow.
PRIVACY AND USER CONTROL
Lexora processes text in response to user-initiated reading actions.
On-device Translation uses Chrome's built-in translation capabilities to process supported translations locally. It does not automatically switch to an online translation provider.
When you choose Google Translate or Cloud AI, text required for the requested translation may be sent to the selected online provider. Features that use external knowledge sources, such as Wikipedia or Wikidata, may also make network requests.
Lexora does not sell user data. Translation modes and provider settings can be managed in the extension options page.
ON-DEVICE REQUIREMENTS
On-device Translation requires a compatible Chrome version and support for the selected language pair. Some language packs must be downloaded before translation becomes available offline.
