About Leave It Clean – Private History Cleaner
Leave It Clean automatically deletes the websites and keywords you choose from your Chrome history — and never shows your rules again, not even to you.
• Website rules: add example.com and every visit to it and its subdomains is removed from history.
• Keyword rules: pages whose title or address contains your keyword are removed too.
• Recently closed: tabs that visited a hidden site are also cleared from Chrome's "Recently closed" list after you close them.
• Existing history: adding a rule also removes matching entries already in your history.
• Right-click: choose "Auto-clean this site…" on any page or link, then confirm.
Rules stay hidden
Most history cleaners list your sites in plain text, so the list gives you away. This extension stores each rule only as a keyed hash (HMAC-SHA-256 with a random key created on your device). After saving, no one can read the rule in the settings page or in the extension's storage. To remove one rule, type it again; or remove all rules at once.
Local only
Matching and deletion happen in your browser. Your browsing history, page titles and rules are never sent anywhere. No analytics, no tracking.
Pro (one-time purchase)
• Unlimited rules (free version: 3).
• Even the rule count is hidden: the stored list is mixed with random decoys that look exactly like real rules.
• Optional: clear a hidden site's cookies and site data when you close its last tab.
• Optional: remove downloads from hidden sites from the downloads list (the files are kept).
Buy at leaveitclean.io. The license key is checked on your device, so the extension still never goes online.
What it cannot clear
Open tabs; bookmarks, saved passwords, autofill and site permissions; records kept by websites, networks, DNS or your Google account. It is not a replacement for incognito mode. Rules stay on this device; other devices signed in to the same account keep their history unless the extension is set up there too.
