About Layro Picker
Layro is a workspace for making videos: you write the script, record the voice-over and lay the video out scene by scene, all in one project. Layro Picker is its browser companion for the step in between — gathering references from the web for each scene, without copying and pasting links by hand.
Open the Picker from your Layro project and browse the web as usual. When a page fits the scene you are on, press Alt+Q — or the Capture button in the Picker — and its link is saved to that scene. No list of links to keep, no notes to sort out later: every reference is already where it belongs.
How it works:
1. Open a project at layro.ai and press Picker in its Sequence tab
2. The Picker shows your scenes one at a time — in a floating window or in Chrome's side panel
3. Find a page that fits the scene: a photo, a clip, an article, a chart
4. Press Alt+Q or Capture — the link goes into that scene
Features:
- One key, Alt+Q, saves the page you are on to the scene you are on
- See at a glance which scenes have a reference and which still need one
- On a supported video page, the link keeps the second you are watching, so the reference points at the right moment
- For a scene about a page itself — a headline, a document — keep a screenshot of the page instead of its link (optional: Chrome asks for permission once)
- On a paid Layro plan, invite a helper to gather references for your scenes; a free Layro account is all they need
What it reads, and when:
- Nothing until you press Allow — the Picker asks the first time you open it
- While the Picker is open in Layro: the address of the tab in front of you, every couple of seconds, so the Picker can offer the capture that fits the page. It stays in your Layro tab unless you capture it
- When you capture: that address, or a screenshot of the visible part of the tab
- With screenshots enabled, and on supported video pages: whether the tab shows a web page or an image file
What it does not do: Layro Picker downloads nothing, records nothing, and reads no page text, forms or passwords. It has no analytics or tracking. It hands what you capture only to your open Layro tab, which saves it to your project. Turn it off at any time from the Layro Picker icon in the toolbar.
Requires a Layro account (layro.ai).
