Every new tab shows you one Spanish word. Look at it, try to recall the meaning, flip the card. That is the whole interaction, and it takes about five seconds. The point is that you already open dozens of tabs a day. LanguagePlay turns that into practice you never have to remember to do. HOW IT DECIDES WHAT TO SHOW YOU Words you get right come back less and less often — after 3 days, then 7, then 16, 35 and 90. Words you get wrong come back in ten minutes. That is spaced repetition: the gap between seeing a word is what moves it into long-term memory. So the app is deliberately quiet about words you already know, and keeps putting the hard ones in front of you. A word only counts as learned once you have had it right twice in a row. One lucky guess is not knowledge. TWO WAYS TO PRACTISE Flashcards — see the Spanish, recall the English, flip the card, and say whether you got it right. Quiz — see the Spanish and pick from three translations. For when you would rather the app checked you than trust yourself to be honest. Both feed the same schedule, so you can switch between them whenever you like. One account, one set of progress: a word learned in the extension counts on the web, and the other way round. ABOUT YOUR PRIVACY This extension replaces your new tab page, and that is all it does. It cannot see the pages you visit, your browsing history, your bookmarks or the tabs you have open — it never asks Chrome for permission to do any of that.
