About Lab Test Tracker
Lab Test Tracker is a notebook-and-tracker for people who test things for a living. Plan a test, run it, capture what happened, and hand over a clean report — without leaving Chrome and without sending your data anywhere.
WHY IT HELPS
Lab results scatter fast: a spreadsheet for status, a doc for steps, a folder of screenshots, a chat thread for the verdict. Lab Test Tracker keeps the plan, the result, the evidence and the environment together on one record, so you can find, repeat and share any test in seconds.
FEATURES
📁 NESTED FOLDERS
Organize tests by product, release, feature or customer. Unlimited folder depth, inline rename, and drag-and-drop to move tests between folders.
🧪 PLATFORMS REGISTRY
Define the platforms you test against (OS, console, client, build) with version and description, then tag each test. Always know exactly what a result was run on.
🚦 STATUS AT A GLANCE
Mark each test Not Started, In Progress, Pass, Fail or Blocked. Color-coded dots in the sidebar show the state of your whole lab at a glance.
📝 RICH TEST PLAN & RESULTS
Two formatted notes per test: bold, italics, bullet and numbered lists, inline code styling, adjustable font size, and images pasted, dragged or inserted — with a resize slider. Pop either section into its own window to work side by side.
📎 ATTACHMENTS
Drag in logs, captures, configs and exports (or use Add File). Open them in a tab or download them later.
📄 ONE-CLICK PDF EXPORT
Generate a clean report with metadata, Test Plan, Results and attachment list — formatting, code blocks and images included. Choose "Save as PDF" in the print dialog.
🖥️ POPUP, TAB OR WINDOW
Quick look from the toolbar popup, full-size in a tab, or in its own window. All views stay in sync live.
🔒 PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Everything is stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB). No account, no servers, no analytics, no network calls. Uninstalling the extension removes the data.
GREAT FOR
• QA and test engineers • Solutions engineers and sales engineers running POCs and bake-offs • IT admins validating policies, patches and deployments • Anyone comparing products or builds side by side

KNOWN LIMITS (v1.0)
Data is local to this Chrome profile and does not sync across devices; there is no whole-dataset export/import yet.
