The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Kukuluku - Translate Selected Text
Select any text on a page and the translation appears right there. No copying, no switching tabs, no separate window.
WORKS WHERE OTHERS DO NOT
Google Docs, Google Sheets and PDF draw their text on a canvas, so selection-based translators see nothing there - including Google's own. Kukuluku handles them: select the text, press Ctrl+C, and the translation shows up on its own.
WHAT YOU GET
- Translation on selection, or on Alt+Q if you prefer to ask for it
- 12 target languages; the source language is detected automatically
- History of what you translated
- Study mode: transcription and parts of speech right in the popup
- A lexicon that fills itself - a word you meet on three different days moves to review on its own
- Five review cards at a time, no streaks and no reminders
- Pause for 30 minutes, 2 hours or until tomorrow
- A list of sites where it stays quiet
- Four themes, six interface languages
PRIVACY
Kukuluku does not record which pages you visit. No addresses, no domains, anywhere. Your history and lexicon stay on your computer.
AI EXPLANATIONS ARE OPTIONAL
Translation works without any key. If you have an Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or xAI account, you can plug your own key in and get a detailed breakdown of a word. Without a key the button simply is not there.
