About Kotiko: learn languages while you browse

Kotiko slips the words you've learned into the pages you read, one at a time, until a foreign language stops feeling foreign. Kotiko swaps words on the web pages you read for the words you are learning, in any language. Read the news, a recipe or a forum as you always do, and here and there a word appears in the language you are learning: perro, 猫, спасибо. Hover over it, or tap it, to see what it means and hear how it sounds. Kotiko works on pages written in the languages you read, which it picks up from your browser, and you can add more. Every word is one you chose. Nothing is added for you. THREE WAYS TO START - Type a word with its meaning, like "perro = dog". No account and no key needed. - Connect a free OpenRouter key, then ask in your own words: "how do you say cat in Japanese". - Or use another AI service, a model on your own computer, or your own Kotiko server. WHAT LEAVES YOUR COMPUTER - The pages you read: never. - A word you add: only to the AI service you chose, and, for languages with word stress, the word alone to Wiktionary for its pronunciation. - Kotiko has no servers of its own, no accounts, no ads and no tracking. KEYBOARD AND ACCESSIBILITY - Select a swapped word and press Alt+Shift+R to open its card; Tab moves through it and Esc closes it. - Kotiko follows your light or dark theme and your reduced-motion setting. - Buttons and menus on websites are left alone by default, so controls read as you expect. WHY KOTIKO ASKS TO READ AND CHANGE ALL SITES Kotiko's job is to swap words on whatever page you are reading, and it can't know in advance which sites those are. It reads page text inside your browser and never sends it anywhere. You can pause it on any site from its toolbar button. Free and open source (Apache-2.0), from ScriptKittyOS.
