About KeyPeek – localStorage & sessionStorage inspector
KeyPeek turns a site's localStorage and sessionStorage into something you can actually read — and edit without fear.
SEE EVERYTHING CLEARLY
• Every entry labeled by what it really holds: Object, Array, Number, Boolean, Text…
• JSON shown as a collapsible, color-coded tree, pretty-printed, or raw
• JSON hidden inside strings (like redux-persist's persist:root) decoded inline
• Sizes and a usage meter measured the way the browser counts its quota
FIND ANYTHING
• Search keys and values across all entries
• Find inside a value by key, value, or path (user.profile.name) — matching branches are filtered and highlighted, Enter jumps to the next match
• Favorites keep the keys you check most at the top, per site
DECODE WHAT'S OPAQUE
• JWTs: header, claims, issued and expiry dates, expired warning
• Unix timestamps and ISO dates in local time, UTC, and "3 hours ago"
• URLs split into host, path, and query parameters
• Readable Base64 text
EDIT SAFELY
• Edit JSON values inline in the tree while the rest of the document keeps its exact formatting, number spelling, and escapes
• Raw mode for any string, with Format and Minify
• Create, duplicate, rename, delete (with confirmation), and import entries
• Undo for every change
• Conflict protection: if the page changes a value while you edit, KeyPeek tells you and lets you overwrite or reload — it never silently overwrites
• Live updates highlight keys the page adds or changes
WORK YOUR WAY
• Popup, Chrome side panel, or a full tab
• Light, dark, or system theme; compact density; keyboard shortcuts
• Export to JSON (exact strings) and import back with a preview
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
KeyPeek runs entirely in your browser. It only accesses the site you open it on, makes no network requests, has no analytics, and never sends your data anywhere.
