The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Keyboard Studio
Keyboard Studio lets you test web keyboard configurators without plugging in every keyboard. It adds virtual WebHID devices from a local JSON catalog to supported configurator sites and to sites you add yourself.
The extension is a tool for developers and testers of configurator software. It ships without a device database: you import your own JSON catalog from the extension popup, and it stays in your Chrome profile.
Features:
- Import a catalog by drag and drop or file picker; group models by brand and product line.
- Connect one model, the models shown by a filter, or every checked model with one click. Unchecked models turn grey and move to the end of the list; named checkbox sets let you switch between selections.
- Device manager with virtual and physical devices side by side: pause, disconnect, match a physical keyboard to its virtual model, choose which source the site receives.
- Device emulation: settings written by the configurator (keymap, Fn layer, lighting, macros, game mode, triggers) are read back, with four profiles and factory reset.
- Failure testing: reply latency, timeouts, dropped or corrupt replies, send errors, disconnect after N commands, firmware version, battery level, charging and bootloader mode.
- HID log of virtual and physical device traffic with decoded commands, filters and JSON export.
- Custom models without editing the catalog file, and custom configurator sites (Chrome asks for access to each site you add).
- Chrome's standard WebHID chooser stays available for real devices.
- Interface in English and Russian.
Privacy: no device database, passwords or API keys are bundled. The catalog, settings and logs stay on your computer; the extension sends nothing to a server, has no analytics and loads no remote code.
