The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Keepto
Keepto is a Windows application that lets a user connect ChatGPT to local projects and files on their own computer within the folders and operations they authorize. The Keepto Chrome extension adds an optional browser capability to that setup: it lets ChatGPT, through the user's Keepto connection, view and interact with Chrome websites the user has allowed in Keepto. The extension is a companion to the Windows application, not a standalone replacement for it.
After the user installs the extension and Keepto on the same computer, the extension pairs automatically with the installed Keepto application through Chrome Native Messaging. There is no pairing code to copy, Chrome profile to enter, or browser automation configuration to maintain. Installing the extension does not itself grant ChatGPT access to every website: the user separately chooses permitted website scopes in Keepto and can revoke them. Keepto starts a browser session when an authorized browser task needs one. A connected Chrome tab is marked with a Keepto badge and placed in a Keepto tab group so the user can identify the tabs involved.
For browser tasks, Keepto can navigate, inspect page content, and perform requested interactions in the connected tab. Chrome's debugger permission supports those actions, while the Windows application applies its own site permissions. The extension also offers a simple connection status page. Browser availability is separate from Keepto's existing local file and project tools.
Keepto is intended for individuals and developers who want their own ChatGPT account to help with work on their Windows computer and, when they choose, on specific Chrome websites. Users remain responsible for choosing the local folders, operations, and websites they allow and for reviewing consequential changes. Keepto is an independent product and is not made by OpenAI or Google.
