The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About KDP Keywords — Amazon Keyword Research for Book Publishers
Every keyword Amazon will suggest for your topic, in one ranked list — without
paying for the privilege.
KDP Keywords pulls its data straight from Amazon's own search suggestions: the
same phrases that appear when a shopper starts typing in the search box. It asks
Amazon 131 questions about your seed word at the default depth — up to 807 if
you want everything — and merges the answers into one ranked list. A typical
search finishes in about a second.
WHAT'S FREE
• YOUR 7 KDP KEYWORD BOXES, FILLED — one click turns your results into the
seven fields KDP asks for. No word repeated (Amazon merges all seven into one
index, so a repeat is wasted space), your title's words skipped automatically,
and your 350-character allowance packed as full as your keywords allow.
• Unlimited searches. No daily cap, no trial counter, no "you have 3 uses left"
• Every keyword visible — nothing blurred, nothing locked behind a signup
• All four search depths, up to 807 queries per seed
• Books, Kindle Store, Audible and all-departments categories
• Filter, sort, long-tail-only, and automatic misspelling detection
• A free sample of live competition data on every search, so you can see
exactly what the paid feature does before deciding
• Copy any keyword, or copy the whole list, with one click
• No account. No login. No email required
HOW IT RANKS RESULTS
Keywords are ordered by how many different query shapes surfaced them — a phrase
that turns up again and again is central to the niche, not a fluke. We also show
where Amazon itself ranked the phrase in its own suggestions.
We do NOT show a "search volume" number. Amazon does not publish one for these
suggestions, and we would rather show you a real signal than an invented figure
dressed up as data.
WHAT THIS LIST IS, HONESTLY
These are phrases people type into Amazon's search box in the category you pick.
That is a demand signal, not proof of a book niche — popular shopping queries
from other departments do sometimes drift in. Seed it like a reader ("cozy
mystery", "grief journal") rather than like a product, and use competition depth
to tell a real niche from noise. The extension says so on screen rather than
letting you find out later.
PAID UNLOCK (optional, one-time)
The research above stays free forever. Paying unlocks:
• COMPETITION DEPTH — see how many books already target each keyword, so you
can find the phrases with demand and thin competition. This is the number
that decides whether a niche is worth writing for.
• CSV export, with breadth, rank and competition columns
• Saved keyword lists, kept per book
Competition depends on Amazon's live search results, so it can be temporarily
affected if Amazon changes their pages — the free tools never do, and always
keep working. If something breaks, I fix it fast. Still broken 30 days after
you bought it? Email me for a refund.
PRIVACY
Your keyword research is never sent to us. Every search runs in your own
browser, straight against Amazon's public suggestion endpoint — there is no
server of ours in the middle, no analytics, and no account. Your seed words
cannot reach us, because there is nothing to send them to. Searches are made
without cookies, so they are not tied to your Amazon account either.
Full privacy policy: https://nikos6761.github.io/kdp-keywords/
The one exception is paying: checkout is handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe, who
need your email address to remember that you paid. Free users are never asked
for one.
PERMISSIONS
Two at install, and no more:
• completion.amazon.com — Amazon's suggestion endpoint. This is the whole free
product.
• extensionpay.com — the payment provider, used only if you choose to unlock.
No access to your browsing history, your tabs, or any other site.
Competition depth additionally needs to read amazon.com search pages, so it is
requested only if and when you use that feature — never at install.
Built for KDP authors, low-content publishers and anyone doing Amazon book
keyword research who is tired of being metered.
