The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Kcik - Alternative Player for Kick
Kcik replaces the live stream player with its own player on channels available through Kcik’s servers, focusing on low latency, adaptive quality, and support for modern video formats such as AV1. On any other channel, the Kick page continues to work exactly as usual.
WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES
• Checks whether the channel you opened is available on the Kcik player.
• If it is, the Kcik player replaces the original player, fitting into the same area and following the page layout in normal view, theater mode, full screen, and mobile view.
• If it is not available, nothing changes: you continue watching through the standard Kick player.
• Switched channels? The extension automatically checks again without requiring you to reload the page.
HOW TO USE
1. Install the extension.
2. Open a channel on kick.com.
3. That’s it! No login, registration, or configuration is required. When the channel is available on Kcik, the player is replaced automatically, and a brief notification appears in the corner of the screen.
4. To switch back to the Kick player, click the extension icon and turn it off. The original player will return immediately without reloading the page.
PRIVACY
• The extension runs only on kick.com. No other websites are read or modified.
• It does not collect your browsing history, read content from other tabs, or request access to your Kick account.
• It does not sell, rent, or share personal data.
• The only information stored locally in your browser is whether the extension is enabled or disabled.
PERMISSIONS AND WHY THEY ARE REQUIRED
• Storage: remembers whether you left the extension enabled or disabled.
• Active tab: used only when you open the extension menu to check whether the current tab is on kick.com and display the appropriate message. No page content is read.
• Access to kick.com: required because this is where the player replacement takes place.
