About Journey Capture Extension

Journey Capture is an exploratory-testing and bug-capture tool. Start a journey, click through the flow you're testing, and capture a screenshot at each step - with AI Assistance switched on, that's a single click per step, title and notes included. Every capture quietly attaches the context a bug report usually needs chasing down by hand: an accessibility audit (powered by axe-core), security checks, Core Web Vitals performance, and more below. Each capture automatically includes: - A screenshot of the current viewport, or the full scrollable page in one shot - The network requests made on that page, so failed (4xx/5xx) or unexpected calls are easy to spot - Any console errors and warnings logged while the page was open - An automated accessibility scan (powered by axe-core), flagging things worth a review - Page Checks - broken images, layout overflow, and a missing responsive viewport tag - Security checks - missing recommended response headers, insecure form submissions, and mixed-content requests - Performance findings - slow Core Web Vitals (Time to First Byte, Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint, layout shift, long tasks), heavy page weight, oversized images, and an excessive DOM size, flagged once they cross "needs improvement" - System info - browser, OS, screen resolution, locale - useful context for anyone else looking at the report Key features: AI Assistance - one-click capture Switch on AI Assistance and leave the title or notes blank - Chrome's built-in, on-device AI fills them in for you from what was captured, so exploring and documenting a journey can be a single click per step. Nothing leaves your machine, suggestions are clearly labelled "AI suggested", and you can switch back to writing your own - or edit any suggestion - at any time, for one field or the whole journey. A full diagnostic suite, automatically, on every capture No digging through DevTools: every capture is checked for failed network requests, console errors/warnings, an accessibility audit powered by axe-core, deterministic page and security problems (broken images, mixed content, missing security headers, insecure forms, and more), and Core Web Vitals performance (Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint, Time to First Byte, layout shift, long tasks, heavy page weight, oversized images, excessive DOM size). All of it attached to the step it happened on, automatically, whether or not you went looking for it. Capture a journey Start a journey, browse as normal, and capture as many steps as you need. Add a title and notes to each one, plus a journey name and charter/mission - editable any time, not just at the start. Write a touch of Markdown in your notes (bold, italic, code, headings, lists) and it renders properly, both in the journey view and the PDF report. Stopped partway through? Resume the same journey later instead of starting over. Full-page or viewport capture Toggle between capturing what's visible or the entire scrollable page, stitched together automatically - no extra permissions required. Annotate and edit Draw, add rectangles, or blur out sensitive content directly on a capture. Rename, add notes to, reorder or delete any capture after the fact. Review and share Browse the whole journey in a full-page view with filmstrip navigation, jumping straight to any capture. Export the raw data as JSON, or generate a PDF report - a quick Summary (screenshot, title and notes per step) for sharing fast, or the full Detailed report with system info, network logs, accessibility, page checks, security checks, performance and console findings for every step. Privacy Journey Capture runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded anywhere - your captures stay in local browser storage until you export them yourself. AI Assistance, when switched on, also runs on-device using Chrome's built-in AI model - your screenshots and captured data never leave your machine.
