About Japanese Vocab Maker - Subtitle Definitions

Understand Japanese anime and dramas as you watch. The plugin shows live definitions for every word in the current line of dialogue on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and YouTube. On Crunchyroll it works even though the site has no Japanese subtitles at all. The plugin listens to the audio, figures out the timing on its own, and displays matching Japanese subtitles together with what each word means. No setup, no subtitle files, no special input from you. Built for learning Japanese through immersion, whether you are studying vocabulary for the JLPT or just want to follow your favorite anime in the original language. FEATURES - Live list of the words in the current dialogue line, with meanings shown as the video plays - Japanese subtitles on Crunchyroll, where the player itself offers none. Timing is worked out automatically from the audio - Conjugated verbs listed as one entry, with the conjugation named. For example, 食べていません is listed as "polite negative progressive" - Support for slang and abbreviations, including ヤベえ (yabai) and すん (suru) - Readings, and optionally romaji and JLPT levels - Click any word to open a full usage page with real example sentences - For many anime, one click opens a vocabulary list for the whole episode - A report button in the word list, for a wrong definition or out-of-sync subtitles SUPPORTED SITES - Crunchyroll: works on anime with no Japanese subtitles. The plugin aligns to the audio and supplies both the subtitles and the definitions - Netflix: works with Japanese subtitles switched on. For Japanese-language shows that lack them, it falls back to the same audio alignment used on Crunchyroll - YouTube: works with any video that has Japanese subtitles switched on in the player, including auto-generated ones Desktop Chrome. Edge can also install it once you allow extensions from other stores. ADJUSTABLE DEFINITIONS WINDOW The definitions window can be moved and resized, and its transparency can be adjusted as desired. FREE Every feature is free, with no account required. PRIVACY The plugin sends one subtitle line at a time to japanesevocabmaker.com to look up the words. It does not make any changes to your account and does not read your viewing history.
