The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Intention
Most of the time you open Instagram, you didn't decide to. Your hand did.
Intention puts a pause between the impulse and the feed. Pick the sites that pull you in. When you open one, Intention stops you on a quiet page and asks you to type a sentence — exactly, by hand. Pasting is disabled. If you genuinely need to be there, it takes twenty seconds. If you were just scratching an itch, you'll usually close the tab instead.
HOW IT WORKS
- Choose your sites. Subdomains are covered automatically.
- Set how long each site stays open after you type the phrase, from 1 to 120 minutes. When time's up it locks again, even mid-scroll.
- Write up to three phrases. Intention rotates between them, so typing never turns into muscle memory.
HARD TO TALK YOURSELF OUT OF
- Turning protection off needs its own separate phrase. Turning it back on is one click.
- Settings changes wait until you save, and saving shows exactly what you're changing before asking for the phrase. Deleting a site from your list is never a one-click escape.
- Optional forced SafeSearch for Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo, plus YouTube Restricted Mode.
A PAGE THAT SLOWS YOU DOWN
Four painterly landscapes, a rotating mode, or your own image. Quiet type, muted colour, nothing competing with what you were about to scroll.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. No analytics. No tracking. Your sites, phrases and settings stay in your browser and never leave it.
Intention won't fight you. It just asks one question before every scroll: do you actually want to be here right now?
