About Inkdiff
Inkdiff shows the Markdown files in a pull request the way readers see them, and lets you comment on the exact source lines.
Open the "Files changed" page of a pull request on GitHub. Each Markdown file (.md, .mdx, .markdown) and Mermaid file (.mmd) opens as a rendered document, with a line-number gutter that maps every heading, list item, table row and code line to its source lines.
- Only what changed: changed sections, with expand arrows and a "Show whole file" toggle. Changed lines are tinted, and removed lines show a marker.
- Comment the easy way: click a line, click or drag across line numbers, or select text. The comment form is the page's own, so drafts, suggestions and reviews work as usual.
- Threads in place: review threads show under their line with their full controls (reply, edit, delete, resolve, reactions).
- Diagrams: Mermaid diagrams render inside the view.
- Fast: no flash of the source diff, and sources are fetched in idle time and cached per commit.
- Works read-only on public pull requests when you are logged out.
Private by design: Inkdiff talks only to GitHub's own servers, has no servers of its own, no analytics and no tracking. Everything it reads stays in your browser. The developer can switch a version off remotely through a public killswitch.json (data only, no code).
