About IMMERSION

Immerse yourself in Chinese as you continue your daily life. Swap English words for Chinese characters at your level. Turn on Immersion on any page and matching English words are replaced with Chinese characters. The rest of the article stays in English. Hover a word for English, tone-colored pinyin, and a Wiktionary link. Optional speak-on-hover reads the Chinese aloud with your system voice. • HSK 1 is free — no account • HSK 2–6 with IMMERSION Plus ($3.99/month, or $29.99/year with a 7-day trial) on theimmersionapp.com or the iPhone app. Monthly has no trial. Verbs are not swapped. • Same Apple or Google account as the iPhone app • While Immersion is on, matching words swap on open http(s) pages (and after you navigate) • Privacy-first: swaps run in your browser. We do not upload the page. How to use 1. Open an English webpage 2. Click the IMMERSION icon 3. Choose HSK 1 and enable “Immersion” 4. For higher levels, sign in and Unlock Plus 5. Verbs stay in English. This extension is not affiliated with HSK or Chinese Testing International.
